World Malayalee Federation Global Chairman Dr. J. Ratnakumar and Maharashtra state Council Patron Dr. Oommen David lighting the lamp, inaugurating the WMF Business Club.
The World Malayali Federation (WMF), the apex global body representing Malayalees worldwide, has inaugurated its Maharashtra Business Club, envisioned as a vibrant platform to connect Malayali entrepreneurs and business professionals across the globe and unlock new avenues for enterprise and collaboration. The initiative draws strength from WMF’s expansive global network, which spans 170 countries.

The grand launch event, held in Navi Mumbai, was graced by Dr. Sureshkumar Madhusudhanan, Chairman and Managing Director of Seagull International Group, as chief guest. In his address, he called upon members to harness WMF’s far-reaching global network for meaningful business growth.

The newly elected office bearers were formally sworn in: Varghese Philip as President, Savio Augustine as Vice President, Sivaram Mathathil as Secretary, Biju Rajan as Joint Secretary, Renny Philipose as Treasurer, and Divya Nair as Joint Treasurer.
Dr. Roy John Mathew, President of the WMF Maharashtra State Council, extended a warm welcome to the gathered guests. The occasion was further enriched by the presence of WMF Global Chairman Dr. J. Ratnakumar, Asia Region President Franz Mundatan, and Business Club International President Regina Chalappuram, among other distinguished dignitaries.
In his remarks, Dr. J. Ratnakumar reflected that WMF’s presence across 170 countries stood not as the achievement of any single individual, but as the fruit of sustained collective endeavour. He expressed his earnest hope that the Business Club would evolve into a truly global forum — one where business ideas, knowledge, and opportunities in investment and employment could be freely and fruitfully exchanged.
Regina Chalappuram, International President of the WMF Business Club, outlined the club’s vision, objectives, and operational framework to the audience.
Vice President Bijoy Oommen unveiled the concept of the ‘WMF Coffee Book’ — a curated compilation showcasing the profiles of eminent business professionals and entrepreneurs from Mumbai.
The event also featured addresses by Dr. Oommen David, Patron of the WMF Maharashtra State Council, Asia Region President Franz Mundatan, and WMF Secretary Dominic Paul. Dr. David recounted the journey and experiences behind establishing the global organization’s presence in Maharashtra, expressing heartfelt joy at the remarkable strides the organization has made within the state in such a short span of time.
Adding depth to the proceedings, P. R. Dileep, a seasoned economist with over three decades of expertise in investment and wealth management, and celebrated architect Suresh Babu, addressed the gathering as special guests.
The proceedings concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sivaram Mathathil, Secretary of the Business Club, Mumbai.
