With a profound understanding of the true purpose of education, Dr. Oommen firmly believes that education must not only sharpen the intellect but also purify the heart. According to him, wisdom must always be united with compassion. He emphasizes the need to cultivate in young minds the capacity for deep thinking and the habit of serene reflection.
A native of Kuttamperoor near Mannar in Thiruvalla, Kerala, Dr. Oommen pursued his studies in English Literature at St. Berchmans College, Changanassery. His enduring passion for sound human values has shaped and sustained his vision as an educator. This noble aspiration inspired him to dedicate his life to teaching and institution-building.
After moving to Mumbai, Dr. Oommen began his career as a teacher at Model English School, Dombivli. Owing to his calm demeanor, academic excellence, administrative skill, and leadership qualities, he was appointed Principal at a young age and served in that role for many years. Under his stewardship, the school witnessed remarkable growth in stature and academic performance.
Driven by a desire to give fuller expression to his educational ideals, Dr. Oommen took the bold step of establishing his own institution. In 1990, he founded Holy Angels’ School and Junior College under the management of the Trinity Educational Trust. Today, the institution educates more than 2,000 students from diverse social backgrounds, without discrimination based on caste, creed, or religion.

For the past 16 years, the school has consistently achieved a 100% pass rate, reflecting its commitment to discipline, quality teaching, and academic excellence.
Dr. Oommen observes, “One of the chief objectives of education should be to widen the windows through which we view the world. Education should kindle a child’s imagination, broaden vision, and open the superhighways of knowledge. The aim of education is to transform the mind into a living fountain, not a stagnant reservoir.”
Dr. Oommen David has been honoured with several national and international awards in recognition of his outstanding contribution to education and society.
